Balgarianovinite.com In a letter to Romanian President Nicusor Dan, Bulgarian President Iliana Iotova expressed sympathy with the Romanian people, after a residential building in Galati, eastern Romania, was hit by a Russian drone, the press office of the presidential institution reported on Friday. The incident resulted in innocent people being injured, the press release pointed out.
Iotova wrote: “As a NATO ally and a member of the European Union, Bulgaria will always support Romania’s actions to protect its territory and the lives of its citizens.” She pointed out that what happened in Galati and the escalation of military actions in Ukraine pose a threat to peace and stability both in the Black Sea region and the entire European continent. The President called for strengthening diplomatic efforts and peace negotiations.
Earlier on Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Bulgaria categorically condemns the incident in Galati.
