Prime Minister Rumen Radev will take part in the regular European Council meeting on Thursday and Friday, the government press service said on Thursday. The meeting will be held in Brussels on October 15 and 16, 2026.
European leaders will discuss challenges to Europe’s competitiveness, energy prices, the EU’s 2028–2034 Multiannual Financial Framework, the war in Ukraine, migration, EU enlargement and the situation in the Middle East, the Council of Ministers said.
During the European Council meeting, Radev will attend a meeting of the Friends of Cohesion group and take part in a review of progress in implementing the One Europe, One Market Roadmap.
His programme also includes other meetings with European heads of state and government.
In a letter to participants ahead of the meeting, European Council President Antonio Costa said the Council would discuss the state of the economy, EU enlargement, support for Ukraine, Russia’s hybrid activities, migration and the situation in the Middle East.
