Balgarianovinite.com The Apollonia Festival of Arts is one of the most significant and well-established events in Bulgarian culture and spirituality, and a space for free-spiritedness and bold creative ideas, Prime Minister Rumen Radev says in a congratulatory message to Apollonia Director Margarita Dimitrova on the occasion of the festival’s 42nd edition starting in Sozopol on Thursday.
In his message, the Prime Minister notes that for decades now, Apollonia has been bringing together talented artists, prominent figures from the Bulgarian and international cultural scenes, and a large audience, transforming Sozopol into a celebration of music, theatre, literature, visual arts, and cinema.
“This unique cultural forum contributes to the contemporary face of Bulgarian culture and to the affirmation of art as a space for free spirit and bold creative ideas,” Radev writes.
The Prime Minister emphasizes the festival’s significance as a venue that brings together artists and audiences and affirms culture as an important part of the country’s spiritual life. In his congratulatory message, Radev wishes Dimitrova and the entire team good health and inspiration, as well as much success and unforgettable encounters in this year’s edition of Apollonia.
The Apollonia Festival of Arts will run until September 6.
Apollonia has been held since 1984. Its stages in Sozopol bring together artists from different fields and audiences from Bulgaria and abroad each year. This year’s programme features more than 70 events spanning music, theatre, literature, cinema and visual arts.
BTA is a media partner of the festival and will take part in its The Price of Success series on September 1, presenting the 12 issues of BTA’s LIK magazine published since the previous edition of Apollonia.
