Balgarianovinite.com Bulgaria’s Prime Minister Rumen Radev presented the country’s 2026 science Olympiad teams with the national flag here on Tuesday. “It is an honour and a genuine pleasure to be among some of Bulgaria’s brightest minds. Your achievements are proof that talent, hard work, and perseverance can turn dreams into real accomplishments. Louis Pasteur once said that will, work and success are the three greatest steps toward perfection,” Radev said, addressing the teams at a ceremony at the Council of Ministers.
Deputy Prime Minister Ivo Hristov, Education and Science Minister Georgi Valchev, and representatives of the Association of Science Olympiad Teams attended the ceremony.
Radev also expressed his deepest gratitude to the team leaders for investing their time and energy in what he described as the most important investment—the future of Bulgaria. “Medals are important, but even more important is the fact that the team leaders’ students give us hope for Bulgaria’s modern future. More importantly, these are the people who will advance knowledge, develop new technologies, and provide new solutions for our country and for the world,” he noted.
A country’s potential is measured by the number of young, intelligent, ambitious people it has, Radev said. He added that he had no doubt that Bulgaria’s Olympiad competitors would give their very best in every competition. Whatever they choose to pursue in the future and wherever they go, they will continue to demonstrate the very best of themselves and of Bulgaria, the Prime Minister added.
“I wish you to remain just as dedicated and determined, and never forget that you have only one homeland—a country worth working for, creating for, and striving for,” Radev told the members of the science Olympiad teams.
