Sculptor Ivaylo Avramov will present the installation “13.824” at the Sofia Collect Gallery on October 31, the gallery announced on Monday. The artwork will remain on display until November 7.
“What happens when we try to fit one empty space into another? Do numerical ratios determine the aesthetic result, or are they simply a manipulation that has nothing to do with art?” – these are some of the questions posed in the presentation of the site-specific project. They concern the relationship between space, mathematical principles and artistic form, as well as the question of whether the viewer can become part of the work or remains only a passive observer, the organizers of the event wrote.
Ivaylo Avramov was born in 1968 in Sofia. He graduated in sculpture from the National Academy of Arts under Prof. Krum Damyanov in 1996. In 2020, he earned a PhD in art history and fine arts, and in 2022, he received the National Sculpture Award “Acad. Ivan Lazarov”. Among his solo exhibitions are “The Pipe” (2026), “Possibilities for Empathy” (2025), and “Connected Balance” (2024).
