Balgarianovinite.com Bulgarian Socialist Party leader Krum Zarkov addressed supporters in the western city of Pernik during what was the first campaign event of his party. “We need competent governance with a clear left-wing philosophy,” he said.
According to Zarkov, Bulgaria must break out of a vicious cycle of frequent snap elections.
Zarkov outlined three main issues, which he said are “tearing the country apart”. The first is the problem of low incomes and depopulation of entire regions. He proposed limiting the access of workers from third countries in sectors without collective labor agreements. The second issue is rising fuel prices, and the third is the increasing cost of foods. “A comprehensive approach and vision are required, as well as people to defend it, and we will propose such representatives in the next parliament,” Zarkov added.
The meeting with party members and supporters was also attended by MEP Kristian Vigenin, the chairman of the BSP Youth Union Gabriel Valkov, and the candidates for parliament from the Pernik contituency. Vigenin commented that this time, both Pernik and Bulgaria can rely on this team. “The outcome of this campaign will determine the future of Bulgaria. It is no coincidence that this is also the motto of our election campaign,” the MEP said.
