In addition to transatlantic relations, the poll, commissioned by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR), also examines individual countries’ relations with the European Union, support for Ukraine, security and defence, and energy independence. Concerning the future of the transatlantic relationship between Europe and the United States, 36% of Bulgarian respondents say that US President Donald Trump has permanently damaged ties between Europe and the United States and that they could not be restored even after he leaves office.
