Balgarianovinite.com Milena Gamozova, a prosecutor at the Varna Appellate Prosecutor’s Office, has been nominated as a candidate for an elected seat on the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) representing the prosecutors’ quota, the SJC press centre said Friday.
Gamozova was nominated by magistrates from the Varna Appellate, District and Regional Prosecutor’s Offices; the District and Regional Prosecutor’s Offices in Shumen and Silistra; the Territorial Departments of the Silistra Regional Prosecutor’s Office; as well as the District and Regional Prosecutor’s Offices in Dobrich and Razgrad and the District Prosecutor’s Office in Targovishte.
The magistrates cited Gamozova’s professional, ethical and personal qualities, which they said make her well suited to play a responsible role in the work of the SJC.
According to the statement, Gamozova has established herself over the course of her long career as a prosecutor of undisputed competence and high legal expertise, consistently and precisely applying the law. She has demonstrated an ability to handle cases of factual and legal complexity, make timely and well-reasoned decisions, and combine professional independence with a strong sense of institutional responsibility, the magistrates said.
The nomination statement also highlighted the respect she commands among colleagues, her integrity and contribution to upholding high standards in the prosecutorial profession, as well as her ability to work effectively as part of a team.
As a strong indication of the professional trust she has earned, the magistrates pointed to her election to two consecutive terms as chair of the Auxiliary Attestation Commission, as well as her appointment in 2025 to the Professional Ethics Commission at the Varna Appellate Prosecutor’s Office.
According to the prosecutors who nominated her, Gamozova’s extensive experience at the appellate level has given her an in-depth understanding of issues related to the organization of the prosecution service, magistrates’ workloads, the need for consistent personnel policies, professional development and the effective administration of the judicial system.
