The Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) has relaunched a public procurement procedure for the major renovation, ongoing repairs and energy upgrade of the Agency’s building under the World of News – Sofia project, funded through the 2021-2027 Regions in Growth Programme.
Bids may be submitted until 23:59 on November 3, 2026. The deadline for completing the works proposed by bidders may not exceed 365 calendar days.
The contract will be awarded based on the most economically advantageous tender, with “lowest price” used as the award criterion under Article 70(2)(1) of Bulgaria’s Public Procurement Act. The bidder offering the lowest total price for the contract will be ranked first.
The procurement notice has been published on the Centralised Automated Information System Electronic Public Procurement platform and in the Official Journal of the European Union. The estimated value of the contract is EUR 2,815,962.82 excluding VAT.
The project aims to achieve sustainable energy renovation of the building and bring it to energy performance class A. Planned works include thermal insulation of the external walls, roof and terraces; replacement of existing window frames with new PVC frames; installation of LED lighting; construction of a photovoltaic installation; and installation of a central heating and air-conditioning system.
The works will be carried out in accordance with an approved investment project and a building permit issued on December 12, 2025, by Sofia’s Sredets district.
