The automotive industry is one of the most important sectors in Bulgaria, Deputy Minister of Economy, Investment, and Industry Levent Memish said at the opening of the Asia Motor Show 2026 in Sofia on Thursday. The event runs through October 26 at Inter Expo Centre and is dedicated to the Asian automotive industry. It showcases over 20 leading automotive brands and more than 150 cars and motorcycles from China, Japan, and South Korea, including electric and hybrid models.
According to Memish, the event will not only be an exhibition but also an opportunity for new partnerships and investments.
He noted that Bulgaria is an important part of the European automotive industry. In his words, the country has skilled professionals, and its geographic location is also significant.
“We want Bulgaria to be a reliable hub for innovation and growth, the country is ready to support strategic investors,” Memish said.
Visitors to the exhibition will see exclusive Bulgarian and European debuts of various models and learn about new technologies and solutions in the automotive industry, as well as test drive more than 50 vehicles in a specially designated test drive area. On site visitors will see BAIC, BAW, BENDA, BYD, DFSK, DONGFENG, FORTHING, FOTON, GWM, HONGQI, ISUZU D-MAX, JAC, JAECOO, KGM, KIA, LEAPMOTOR, MAZDA, MG, M-HERO, OMODA, SUBARU, VOYAH, XPENG.
