Superman is headed to the White House.
Well, not exactly Superman, but Dean Cain, aka President Donald Trump’s favorite Kal-El and star of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, a show waving the flag for comic books and superheroes long before the Marvel boom.
Cain spoke with Mediaite about his role hosting Million Dollar Pitch, a competition put on by the the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), his current status with ICE, and fleeing Hollywood for Nevada.
The Million Dollar Pitch Competition is a competition, which can be seen this Friday, that will see a panel of judges awarding money to small businesses. Cain hosts the event, and the judging panel consists of musician Nicki Minaj, real estate mogul Grant Cardone, and Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia.
The live event, taking place in Washington, D.C. has a prize pool of $1 million. Five finalists bill compete for a portion of the prize. First place will receive $400,000 and fifth place will receive $75,000.
“I know a lot of folks in this administration, and some folks in the SBA reached out and asked if I’d be interested in hosting, and I happily accepted,” Cain, a longtime supporter of President Donald Trump, told Mediaite about his involvement in the event.
The actor has plenty of experience with such gigs, having previously hosted Ripley’s Believe It Or Not for four seasons, and he’s currently hosting Masters of Illusion in its 13th season.
“I imagine that the show will be similar to many of the hosting gigs I’ve done in the past like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, The Today Show, Fox & Friends, and even my current hosting gigs like Masters of Illusion… and The Homeland on Proud American Studios,” Cain said.
Some critics have pointed to the SBA live event as the latest example of the administration leaning into showmanship. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. hosts a cooking show on YouTube, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and his family were at the center of a travel series.
“The Million Dollar Pitch is about encouraging innovators and creators — something that has been lacking in previous administrations — and I’m here for it! That’s the American Dream!” Cain said about his own feelings on the event.
After the SBA event, Cain’s work related to the administration is not done. He’s still working on completing his training to become an agent with ICE. He first announced his intentions in August 2025, making headlines and inviting expected mockery and blowback from the left.
Cain has zero regrets about the decision. He’s currently an honorary officer and said he’ll be completing the last bits of his training soon.
He said:
I am an Honorary ICE agent for now — having completed much of the training, but my filming schedule has made it difficult for me to finish some of the classroom stuff — we’re working on it! I want to be a full-fledged officer soon, and stand shoulder to shoulder with these brave Americans who are enforcing our immigration laws. Our officers have been attacked, doxxed, disparaged, and vilified — to the point that many officers have chosen to wear masks — fearing reprisals against them and their families. I do NOT wear a mask. Attacks against ICE and Border Patrol Agents are way up. But crime and murders are way down. That correlation is not lost on me.
When asked about Trump supporters like Joe Rogan becoming more critical of the methods deployed by ICE, Cain pushed back and remained firm in his defense of the agency, accusing the mainstream media of being “terrible” to ICE and critics of being ignorant of the “complexity” of the practicality of the mass deportation mission.
“It’s crazy for me to watch, especially after the absolutely disastrous administration of Joe Biden. People who are critical of the way deportations are being handled don’t understand the complexity of deporting millions of illegal aliens, especially when “Sanctuary Mayors and Governors” won’t cooperate, and hand over those criminal illegal aliens to ICE,” Cain said.
Despite the ICE agent dreams, Cain remains active in filmmaking, having just made his directorial debut with Little Angels. He has two more directorial efforts in the can, Holy One and End the Wait, and he’s recently filmed in Alabama, Nevada, and Texas. The common thread there is no California. Cain is one of many (Rogan being another) who have fled California in recent years, and Cain argues Hollywood’s hold on the entertainment industry is gone.
Cain blames “high taxes, ridiculous regulations, waste, fraud, abuse of taxpayer money,” and soft-on-crime policies as the reasons so many are fleeing the state and Hollywood.
“Anyone who can afford to leave, is leaving. Hollywood is dying. I rarely film in California… avoiding it like the plague,” he said. “I just finished films in Alabama, Nevada, and Texas. My next three films are also scheduled for Nevada and Texas. It’s quite unfortunate, because California should be the greatest state in the nation, and Hollywood should be booming.”
