China is an important partner with potential for expanding bilateral cooperation across a number of industrial sectors, Deputy Economy, Investments and Industry Minister Krasimir Yakimov said during the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber for Industrial Development in Sofia, held under the motto “Partnership in Motion”, quoted by the Ministry’s press centre on Friday. He stressed that Bulgaria aspires to be not merely a point on the European market map, but a place where investors develop manufacturing operations, technologies and long-term initiatives.
“We want more investment in Bulgaria, more joint manufacturing ventures and higher added value for Bulgarian businesses,” the Deputy Minister said. According to him, Bulgaria has an established industrial base, qualified specialists and companies with experience in international manufacturing and partnerships. The aim is to attract investment that builds on existing production, creates sustainable jobs and develops local suppliers.
The Deputy Minister also emphasized the role of the state in creating more favourable conditions for investors. “We are working towards a more predictable and efficient environment for investors, better coordination between institutions and the removal of administrative burdens on businesses. We want investors to receive clear answers and concrete solutions, and the state to be their natural partner,” he stressed.
Yakimov highlighted the importance of the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber for Industrial Development as a partner in identifying specific investment opportunities and developing joint industrial projects.
