Balgarianovinite.com Partnership with employers is crucial for both effective planning in vocational education and the development of dual training – both in secondary and higher education, said Minister of Education and Science Georgi Valchev here on Wednesday. He was speaking at a working meeting with employer organizations – the Bulgarian Industrial Capital Association (BICA), the Bulgarian Industrial Association, the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria (KRIB), the Education Ministry reported.
Valchev said that his Ministry has consistently worked to more closely link education and the needs of the economy. In his words, sustainable solutions can be achieved through a well-intentioned, open and regular dialogue between the State, business and educational institutions. He added that this also corresponds to the framework in which the Ministry of Education puts the topic in the invitation to employer organizations.
Emphasis was also placed on the From Higher Education to Employment project, funded under the Education Programme 2021-2027, which is co-financed by the European Union and implemented by the Education Ministry. Through it, over 40,000 students will have internships in a real work environment. The aim is to improve the connection between higher education and the needs of the labour market and to provide additional practical training for students and better opportunities for professional realization for graduates.
The possibilities for broader involvement of employers in student internships and in the preparation of a dual training model in higher education were also discussed.
