Ex-MAGA die-hard and former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took President Donald Trump to task over high gas prices, laying the blame squarely on him.

Inflation is poised to be a decisive factor in November’s midterm elections after Trump started several trade wars and launched a hot war against Iran in February. Iran responded by closing the Strait of Hormuz, which has hobbled oil shipments out of the region, putting upward pressure on fuel prices.

A Fox News poll released on Wednesday shows that more than 60% of Americans say grocery and gas prices are a “major problem” for their families. Trump dismissed high fuel prices at a rally in North Carolina on Wednesday night, telling the crowd that the cost is “a very inexpensive price to pay.”

Greene, who had a falling-out with Trump over the administration’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files, posted a video on social media on Tuesday, where she blasted the president while standing outside a gas station in California.

“Alright, $8.49 for diesel in California,” she began. “Let me tell you something. It’s $6.59 in Georgia. I don’t care if it’s Georgia or California. It’s way too high. This is ridiculous.”

As of Wednesday, the national average for a gallon of gas was $4.37. Diesel prices, meanwhile, have hit record highs.

Greene pointed to the sign outside the station, showing the price for a gallon of diesel and a gallon of regular unleaded gas, the latter of which cost $6.19 and nine-tenths.

“Look, everything you buy – your food, your supplies, all of your goods – gets delivered by diesel,” she continued. “The war in Iran has got to stop. This is Trump’s fault. This should not be this high. It needs to end. Ridiculous.”

Trump’s approval rating is underwater across all polls. A UMass survey from August put it at just 32%. In another poll, Democrats lead Republicans in a generic congressional ballot 51% to 43%. The GOP is widely expected to lose control of the House and perhaps the Senate.
