Balgarianovinite.com “The mission of the Central Election Commission (CEC) is to ensure clear, transparent and fair elections,” CEC Chair Georgi Horozov said at the first regular briefing on preparations for and the conduct of the presidential elections, scheduled for October 25, 2026.
“The entire election process is based on clear principles of efficiency and transparency, so that there can be no doubt about the results,” Horozov said.
“We have begun taking steps related to the implementation of the Election Code and the organization of the elections, and on some issues we have adopted decisions in advance,” Horozov noted. He said this would help facilitate the organizational process.
Horozov stressed that without the active involvement of the media, the Commission’s work could not be sufficiently transparent, nor could there be adequate public awareness. “We are counting on these statements reaching voters in the way in which they were made. We rely on you to inform the public about our decisions and, together, through the precise application of the law and by adhering to the objectives of the Election Code, to be able to serve the interests of voters,” he added.
“We have done everything to ensure that this year’s information campaign is as broad, useful and up-to-date as possible, provides sufficient information, and enables voters to exercise their rights properly,” the CEC Chair also said.
