Balgarianovinite.com Around one-third of outlets inspected along Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast since the start of the National Revenue Agency’s (NRA) summer control campaign have been found in violation, NRA Communications Director Anna Mitova said in Burgas on Saturday.
Since the campaign began on June 29, nearly 1,500 inspections have been carried out, resulting in 470 administrative violation reports, Mitova said.
The most common violations involve failure to issue fiscal receipts, the issuance of fake documents resembling receipts, and discrepancies between cash on hand and reported turnover. Fourteen businesses were found operating without functioning fiscal devices, seven were issuing non-fiscal receipts, and 10 employers had failed to submit required information on employees’ social security contributions, according to the NRA.
Mitova cited as an example joint inspections carried out on Friday night by NRA and Customs Agency officials at businesses along Burgas’ coastal promenade selling shisha products and spirits. Vasil Reizov, head of Operational Control at the Burgas Customs Territorial Directorate, said inspectors had found two violations of excise legislation at one establishment: failure to register under the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act for trading in excise goods and offering shisha tobacco without an excise stamp.
In Burgas and the surrounding region, 811 outlets have been inspected since the start of the summer campaign, with violations found at 319 of them. The checks identified nine cases of missing fiscal devices and seven cases of non-fiscal receipts.
So far this year, the NRA has carried out more than 27,500 inspections nationwide, detecting nearly 11,000 violations, Mitova said.
