Vazrazhdane presidential candidate Kostadin Kostadinov visited Ruse. He laid flowers at the city’s Monument of Liberty. Later, at the party campaign stand in central Ruse, Kostadinov met with citizens and visitors to the city. He said that the main question that should be put before the Bulgarian public is what Bulgaria should be like in 10 or 20 years.
“It is high time Bulgarian citizens were asked about their own future,” Kostadinov said. According to him, the next national goal should be formulated with the participation of all Bulgarians.
He outlined five main priorities that, in his view, should be incorporated into national policy: Bulgaria should be an independent and prosperous state; it should be united; it should achieve scientific and educational prosperity; and it should guarantee the strength of the state through its own army and currency. Kostadinov also stated that, in his view, the Bulgarian lev had been unlawfully removed from the financial system and should be restored.
He recalled that Vazrazhdane supports a semi-presidential republic model in which the president and parliament provide mutual checks and balances.
