At Wednesday’s meeting of the Consultative Council for National Security, it became absolutely clear that there are sufficient indications of clear Russian interference in the attack on the two commercial vessels in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea, Yes, Bulgaria Co-Chair and Democratic Bulgaria MP Ivaylo Mirchev, told journalists.
“I do not remember people at the table who had doubts that Russia was behind this attack,” Mirchev said.
He pointed out that Democratic Bulgaria had made proposals that the Council did not accept, such as immediately calling for and reaffirming the position of 51 countries, including Bulgaria and the EU, in the UN for an immediate ceasefire on both sides and the start of peace talks. The proposal to call on Russia to commit to no more attacks on merchant ships in Bulgaria’s exclusive economic zone was also not accepted, the MP added.
