The competitiveness of Bulgaria and Southeast Europe in the new technological environment will be the focus of an international forum in Sofia bringing together representatives of government institutions and executives of companies operating in high-value-added sectors.
Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation Ivan Vasilev and executives from international companies are expected to be among the key participants in the Association for Innovation, Business Excellence, Services and Technology (AIBEST) SEE FORWARD SUMMIT 2026, which will take place Tuesday at Planet Schwarz Tech Theater in Sofia.
The event is scheduled to begin with welcoming remarks by Minister Vasilev and AIBEST Chairman Yordan Ginev. In addition to his opening remarks, the Minister of Innovation and Digital Transformation will participate in the programme’s “Shared Vision for Digital Bulgaria” discussion, which will focus on opportunities for Bulgaria to accelerate its digital development and strengthen its position as a regional technology and innovation hub.
A highlight of the event will be the closing session, “From Contact Centers to Connected Care,” featuring Jim Foster, Senior Director, Contact Center Strategy, Innovation & Delivery at HP Inc., the organizers said.
Other key topics on the forum’s agenda include Europe’s technological sovereignty and its link to business competitiveness, investment in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud technologies and digital infrastructure, as well as European regulations on data, AI and cybersecurity. Participants will discuss Europe’s technological dependencies and opportunities to build a more resilient digital environment.
The changing investment landscape in Europe and new opportunities for Southern, Central and Eastern Europe will also be in focus. Two examples from Bulgaria of strategic innovation and globally competitive technology products will be presented. A workshop session will provide a practical perspective on the role of technology, data and innovation in quality management and the creation of business value.
The SEE FORWARD Awards ceremony will take place in the evening. The awards will recognize achievements by companies and leaders in the development of the technology and business sectors.
