Bulgaria’s gross domestic product (GDP) reached EUR 116.548 billion in 2025, recording real growth of 3% compared with 2024, according to revised annual data released by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on Tuesday.
Gross value added amounted to EUR 101.423 billion, increasing by 2.4% year on year.
The revised GDP growth rate is 0.1 percentage points lower than the preliminary estimate of 3.1% published in early March 2026, which was based on the sum of quarterly data.
In nominal terms, however, GDP was revised upwards by EUR 530.2 million from the preliminary estimate of EUR 116.018 billion.
The NSI said the updated figures were based on comprehensive annual statistical surveys and revised administrative information.
For comparison, Bulgaria’s economy grew by 3.4% in 2024, when nominal GDP amounted to EUR 104.767 billion, according to revised NSI figures.
Construction recorded the strongest growth in 2025, at 6.8%, followed by professional, scientific, technical, administrative and support service activities, up 6.5%.
Information and communication activities increased by 6.1%, while public administration, education, healthcare and social work grew by 5.3%.
Real estate activities expanded by 4.9%, financial and insurance activities by 3.9%, and arts, entertainment, recreation and other services by 3.2%.
Trade, motor vehicle repairs, transport, storage, postal services, accommodation and food services recorded growth of 1.9%, while agriculture, forestry and fishing increased by 0.4%.
Meanwhile, the broad industry grouping covering mining and quarrying, manufacturing, electricity and gas supply, water supply, sewerage and waste management contracted by 5% year on year.
