The 5th International Nuclear Conference and an exhibition on “Nuclear Energy – From Ambition to Implementation” will be unveiled in Sofia on Thursday. The two-day forum is organized by the Bulgarian Energy and Mining Forum and held under the auspices of the Energy Ministry.
The conference is scheduled to be opened by Energy Minister Iva Petrova, the Bulgarian Energy and Mining Forum said. Participants include experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency, the European Commission, Westinghouse, Framatome GmbH, Siemens Energy, the World Bank, the European Investment Bank, and leading Bulgarian companies and institutions.
Topics to be discussed include digital security in nuclear energy, the application of artificial intelligence, the development of small modular reactors, and the implementation and financing of new nuclear power capacity.
A special panel is dedicated to innovations in nuclear energy and cybersecurity.
A significant portion of the conference is devoted to projects that are already moving from the conceptual stage to actual implementation. The current status of the project for Units 7 and 8 of the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant will be discussed.
The conference will also address the issue of international practical experience with small modular reactors.
