Vice President JD Vance delighted Democrats this week when he told the All-In podcast that part of his closing message for the 2026 midterms is to urge voters to “give us another chance.”
Vance made the comments at the end of a lengthy interview after being asked by Canadian-American venture capitalist Chamath Palihapitiya, “Can you just give us some insight into what’s actually happening on the ground and what is the message that needs to be delivered so that folks can come to the right conclusion in November?”
Part of that answer was quickly clipped and went viral on social media. “There’s a lot of good that’s been done, but there’s a lot of work left to do. Don’t give power to the people who cause the problems that we’re fixing. Give us another chance, or give us another couple of years, to continue to work on the amazing things that we’ve been doing for the past two years,” Vance said in the viral moment from Tuesday night.
Top House Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) jumped on the clip and wrote, “Vance to America: Republicans have failed but give us another chance. Jeffries to Vance: Get Lost. It’s over for MAGA extremism in November.”
Hawaii Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI) shared the clip and wrote, “If you are in the Democratic messaging business it is important that everyone see this.” He later added:
“Give us another chance” is the most mind boggling mid term pitch I’ve ever heard in my life
