Bill Maher revealed details from his White House dinner with President Donald Trump and he had a simple message for critics who don’t like his second hang with Trump: “F*ck you.”
On Friday’s Real Time, Maher touched on his recent dinner with Trump, Stephen A. Smith, and Kid Rock at the White House, Maher’s second time dining with Trump despite the two being vocal critics of each other.
Maher offered some praise for Trump during an interview with former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and during his opening monologue he told the crowd he likes the dinners with Trump and he’s offering no apologies.
“Yeah, I did it again, b*tches! I know! I’m the bag guy because I go and say face-to-face to the man the things you write in articles he’ll never read, but okay. You know what? F*ck you. I like these dinners,” he said.
The dinner ended up lasting more than four hours. Smith was a guest of Maher’s and both of them brought up a number of issues to Trump. Maher said he spoke with the president about disruptions to Starlink service in Ukraine, ICE shootings, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth “dragging” him down, and more.
“I had a lot to b*tch about,” Maher said.
He called it “thrilling” visiting the White House and being announced to the president.
“First of all, you’re in the White House. There is just something thrilling about being announced when you’re in the White House, that moment when you’re outside the Oval Office and you hear the aide say, sir, you’re seven o’clock low-ratings dummy is here,” Maher joked.
He wrapped the talk up by taking a slight dig at Trump and recent criticisms about him giving favorable treatment to Russia through a diesel deal and lifting sanctions.
“I could not have been treated better if I was Russian,” Maher said.
