Transport connectivity in Burgas will be improved in preparation for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027, Transport and Communications Minister Georgi Peev said here on Monday after a meeting with Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov. “We discussed ways to improve transport links, from connections with the airports in Istanbul and Sofia to domestic rail transport,” he said.
According to the Minister, Burgas can count on the full support of the Transport and Communications Ministry. He described the meeting with the mayor as productive and noted that transport connectivity had been one of the main topics of discussion.
Improving connections to Burgas is important for organizing the international event and facilitating the movement of the expected visitors, Peev stressed, adding that preparations for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest would require coordination between national and local institutions, including in terms of transport and logistics.
The Minister’s working visit to Burgas also included meetings with representatives of the regional administration.
