CBS News’s Gabe Guttierez reminded President Donald Trump that Vladimir Putin started the war with Ukraine, as Trump insinuated there was more to the story.

Guttierez confronted Trump shortly before the president departed for a rally in Georgia on Friday.
“You called Ukraine a disgrace for attacking Russia. You want Zelensky out. Have you forgotten that it’s President Putin who started the war?” Guttierez asked.

“Well, you know, I know the details, okay?” Trump answered. “And at some point, I’ll release the details. But I don’t care anything except for one. I want that war ended.”

“Twenty-five thousand soldiers on average a month are being killed. Last month, 32,000 soldiers,” Trump said. “And I think the two leaders, I do, with both of them— I think they want that war ended, too. And I think it’s going to end. That’s all I care about. I want that war to end.
The Telegraph reported Friday that Elon Musk and Donald Trump decided to slow down Ukraine’s access to Starlink, to give Russia an advantage in the war.
“The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraine’s drone defences,” the outlet reported Friday, citing “four sources familiar with the discussions.”

“One of the sources said Mr Trump “agreed” with Mr Musk’s suggestion, paving the way for the Pentagon to execute the slowdown on Starshield, the military-grade version of the satellite communications system,” the report said.
At the same gaggle Friday, another reporter asked Trump if it was him or Musk who decided to “temporarily pause Starlink access for the Ukrainian military.”
“Well, I don’t know if it was anybody, because it wasn’t me,” Trump said. “And I don’t think it was Elon. And from what I understand, it’s the same as it’s always been.”
