Foreign Minister Velislava Petrova continued her intensive schedule in New York, within the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, with bilateral meetings and participation in multilateral forums focused on security, regional cooperation, and the development of political and economic partnerships, the Foreign Ministry announced on Friday.
Petrova held talks with British Minister of State in the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Stephen Doughty, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamoud Al Busaidi.
As part of her agenda, Petrova also met with Phenyo Butale, International Relations Minister of Botswana, and Maria Theresa Lazaro, Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Philippines.
The discussions focused on the development of bilateral relations, international and regional security, economic cooperation, energy, connectivity, and opportunities for a more active political dialogue.
At the meetings with representatives from Iraq and Botswana, memoranda of understanding were signed, establishing a foundation for a more structured and regular political dialogue and for deepening bilateral cooperation.
