Balgarianovinite.com The Apollonia Festival of Arts is a hub of culture and spirituality, a place where artists come together with their supporters, friends, like-minded people, and those who care about spirituality and the development of culture in Bulgaria, National Assembly Deputy Chair Ivan Angelov said at the opening of the 42nd Apollonia Festival here on Thursday.
In his words, Sozopol is a welcoming, beautiful town with a rich history and traditions, and the festival has been part of the country’s cultural life for more than four decades. “Apollonia is a hub of culture, spirituality, art, and a touch of perfection,” he noted.
The Deputy Chair of Parliament expressed his gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the festival’s development over the years. He specifically thanked Apollonia Director Margarita Dimitrova and all those who have helped establish the festival.
Angelov wished the festival’s participants and organizers good health, success, and good luck, and expressed his hope that everyone would meet again in Sozopol next year.
The Apollonia Festival of Arts will run until September 6.
Apollonia has been held since 1984. Its stages in Sozopol bring together artists from different fields and audiences from Bulgaria and abroad each year. This year’s programme features more than 70 events spanning music, theatre, literature, cinema and visual arts.
BTA is a media partner of the festival and will take part in its The Price of Success series on September 1, presenting the 12 issues of BTA’s LIK magazine published since the previous edition of Apollonia.
