People’s Power continues as a political movement, presidential candidate Georgi Dimov said at a meeting with supporters in Sofia on Wednesday. The People’s Power nomination committee named Dimov, alongside Dimitar Shivikov, as their candidates for president and vice president in the upcoming October 25 election.
“After the election, we will hold a founding assembly,” Dimov added.
“We have seen that the oligarchy and corruption have taken over Bulgaria’s cities. There is an apathetic opposition and parties in parliament that are engineered,” he said. “We are initiating a major change in Bulgarian politics because Bulgaria must become an economic, energy, and cultural hub,” Dimov said.
“The election results we achieve will serve as a basis to inspire us further and motivate us,” vice presidential candidate Dimitar Shivikov said.
At the event, the main priorities and activities of the People’s Power Movement were discussed, including Bulgaria’s peace and neutrality, economic and financial sovereignty, the protection of national security, and the development of Bulgaria’s defence capabilities.
