Three people were injured in a Russian attack on a highway in Ukraine’s Odesa Region around midday on Saturday, Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper said on Telegram.
Three trucks were damaged in the attack and one of them caught fire, Kiper said. Emergency services were working at the scene to deal with the aftermath.
According to Kiper, Russian forces also carried out a large-scale attack on civilian infrastructure in Odesa Region overnight.
Facades and windows of more than ten private homes and apartment buildings in the southern part of the region were damaged. A hotel and restaurant complex and several business premises were also damaged, he said.
More than 150,000 Bulgarians live in Odesa Region, making them the third-largest ethnic community there according to Ukraine’s latest official census. An estimated 50,000 to 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa, while the region’s largest Bulgarian communities are concentrated in the Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi districts.
