Bulgarian singer Camellia Todorova, one of the country’s iconic pop and jazz performers, will launch her anniversary tour, 50 Years on Stage, with a concert in Plovdiv on October 2, the Plovdiv Municipality said.
In an address to the Plovdiv audience, Todorova said she had chosen the city to launch her anniversary tour because she believes Plovdiv is a fitting starting point for her musical journey, given its strong spirit, history and appreciation of the arts.
The tour marks five decades of Todorova’s career as a prominent performer on the Bulgarian and international music scenes. Her career has spanned jazz, pop and soul, prestigious festivals and international releases. In the 1980s, she recorded for the global music label Virgin Records.
The anniversary comes in an exceptionally active and successful 2026, filled with concerts, new projects and meetings with audiences, the organizers said. In just a few months, the singer has performed in various musical formats, from club and festival stages to performances with a full symphony orchestra.
Two major projects are also planned by the end of the year: her autobiographical book, V nadprevara sas sebe si [Racing Against Myself], which will be launched on November 19 at the Peroto Literary Club at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, and the anniversary flash-drive release Camellia Todorova – The Best Collection, featuring 94 songs from different periods of her career.
The anniversary tour will continue in different Bulgarian cities in 2027, culminating on October 20, 2027, at Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture in Sofia. The Plovdiv concert will take place with the support of the Plovdiv 2019 Foundation.
