Bulgaria’s annual consumer price index (CPI) recorded 4.5 per cent inflation in July, a drop from 5.4 per cent a month earlier, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on August 17.
The monthly CPI figure showed 0.8 per cent inflation in July.
Food prices were 0.9 per cent lower in July compared to June, while non-food prices fell by 0.6 per cent and services prices were 4.3 per cent higher.
Compared to July 2025, food prices were up 1.2 per cent, while non-food prices rose by 4.8 per cent and services prices were 6.7 per cent higher.
The harmonised CPI figure, calculated by NSI for comparison with European Union data, recorded 0.6 per cent monthly inflation, and the annual harmonised CPI inflation fell to 4.4 per cent, down from 5.2 per cent a month earlier.
Food and beverage prices were 1.2 per cent higher in July, on an annual basis, while the price of utilities and housing rose by five per cent and transportation costs were 9.4 per cent higher compared to the same month of last year.
