Right-wing New York radio host Sid Rosenberg blasted a summit between President Donald Trump and Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Monday, urging the president to reconsider meeting “this Jew hater on Yom Kippur.”
In an X post on Monday morning ahead of Trump’s trip to NYC for the UN General Assembly, Rosenberg criticized the president for meeting with the Big Apple mayor, calling hizzoner an “anti American piece of sh*t” and a “punk” who “does not deserve the President’s respect.”
“I love @POTUS but meeting with this anti American piece of sh*t hurts our mutual friend [Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman] and all Republicans trying to win midterm elections,” Rosenberg wrote. “This punk does not deserve the President’s respect. Meeting with this Jew hater on Yom Kippur? OMG. Please reconsider Mr. President!”
Rosenberg did not host his morning radio show, Sid & Friends in the Morning on 77 WABC, on Monday in observance of the holiday.
The radio personality is no stranger to attacks on Mamdani. He raised eyebrows back in July when he ranted about the mayor during an appearance on Fox News, saying in part, “This guy is a terrorist. That’s the bottom line, I’ll say it. You don’t want to say it, I’ll say it. He’s a terrorist, he’s a jihadist.”
Rosenberg went on: “He hates the Jewish people. He hates America. He hates the Italian people, he hates the Irish people, he hates the German people, unless you’re Muslim, Mayor Mamdani has no use for you. He is a horrible person.”
The remarks forced Fox host Griff Jenkins to read a statement from the network that read:
We know there are heated feelings around this war last hour, while discussing the role anti-Israel is playing in the rise of antisemitism, one of our guests labeled New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani a, quote, terrorist. Now that word carries an extremely serious meaning, it should not be used freely and its important we distinguish between strong political criticism and factual allegations.
The Trump-Mamdani meeting will be the first on the mayor’s turf. The pair met several times at the White House in the past year.
Their first meeting in November 2025, shortly after Mamdani was elected, was expected to be contentious after Trump repeatedly called the democratic socialist a “communist” as he campaigned.
But in an astonishing turn of events, the two actually have expressed great fondness for each other.
